We are looking for a Institutional Bid Manager to join our team who funding opportunities issued by institutional organisations (e.g. Space Agency, national and local Governments, European Organisations, etc.) are essential in D-Orbit to support the services development roadmap, by providing the necessary resources. In this framework, the Institutional Bid Manager is responsible of the bidding process throughout the full offer lifecycle, from opportunity identification to contract signature, with particular attention to planning and execution of the offer, managing interactions with internal departments and external partner organisations. Talks to the relevant customers and stakeholders, especially from the institutional market with the objective to anticipate funding opportunities.  Responsibilities:  - He/she manages the participation in Institutional bidding opportunities, being responsible for the delivery of the proposal and coordinating the proposal team. - Plans and executes the offer, managing interactions with internal departments and partner organisations.  - Interacts with the final customer in order to understand its needs and reflect those in the offer.  - Liaise with members of the bid consortium for their contribution to the proposal.  - Prepare and maintain proposal templates and keep records of documentation produced and issued in all bid phases.  - Collaborate with administrative department for all the bureaucratic tasks involved in the bidding process and with the Program Management department for the proposal drafting. - Guarantee compliance with company process, customer requests and strategic goals. More specifically, he/she will ensure deadlines are met in the following phases: Bid-No-Bid; Bid Preparation; Proposal submission on the dedicated website; Lessons learned; Negotiation. - Is responsible to keep the company CRM up to date for R&D funding opportunities.  - Contributes to the company service development roadmap and the strategy to achieve it.    Qualifications and Requirements - Proactive attitude and ability to work in large, international team, as well as individually.  - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Precision and attention to detail, coupled with excellent organizational skills.  - Proficient in Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.  - Ability to manage demanding and fluctuating workloads effectively and ability to work under pressure.  - Sale-oriented attitude.  - Preferably two to three years of working experience in business development, marketing and sales, with focus on development of technological services (responsibilities and task will vary according to the level of experience).  - Knowledge of the space market and of macro-economy principles.  - Knowledge of System Engineering principles and system-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems will be an asset.   Education University degree in Engineering, Economics, Physics, Business, Information Technologies or other relevant disciplines. The Sales Engineering team at D-Orbit plays a multifaceted role that bridges technical expertise and sales functions. Here's a breakdown of their key areas: ·        Pre-Sales Support: The Sales Engineering team analyzes complex deals, interprets non-quantitative customer needs, and translates them into solutions using D-Orbit's services. ·        Proposal Writing: The Sales Engineering team has the responsibility of coordinating teams (engineering, product management, finance) to write technical proposals for customer requests. ·        Market Analysis and Development: This includes building a real-time database of satellites and using it to estimate the market size for D-Orbit's transportation services, identify sales opportunities, and define pricing strategies. ·        Sales Tools and Data Management: The Sales Engineering team manages data within D-Orbit's sales tools. This includes creating a customized CRM dashboard, organising sales data within the ERP system, and manipulating data from Jira and Confluence for statistical analysis. ·        Competitive Intelligence: The sales Engineering team gathers and analyzes information on competitors, particularly those in the US. This involves scouting technical details from FCC reports and developing Python tools to track competitor activity. ·        Space Safety Involvement: The Sales Engineering team actively participates in space safety matters. They built the infrastructure for submitting flight safety analyses required for customer licenses and reviewed these analyses. Their expertise even led to correcting a critical reentry time evaluation for a satellite. They are also part of the Sustainability Committee.   Key Responsibilities:   •       Coordination of  a team comprising Engineering, Project Managers, and Sales to write a proposal in response to customers' requests.Ability to understand customers' requirements and to find the most efficient way to be compliant with them relying on D-Orbit's services. •       Scouting data and information about competitors and customers, understanding where the market is going.   Requirements:   •       Previous experience in an aerospace company. •       Between 5 and 8 years of professional working experience in an Engineering Role. •       Previous experience in Sales Engineering.   •       Background in engineering field. •       Ability to run mission analysis (GMAT). •       Ability to code (Python). •       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. •       Proactive attitude and ability to work in a team. •       Professional proficiency in English.   Preferred Qualifications:   •       Degree in Engineering Field.   At D-Orbit, diversity and inclusivity are not just values, they are integral to our mission and the way we operate.
