The Sales Engineering team at D-Orbit plays a multifaceted role that bridges technical expertise and sales functions. Here's a breakdown of their key areas: ·        Pre-Sales Support: The Sales Engineering team analyzes complex deals, interprets non-quantitative customer needs, and translates them into solutions using D-Orbit's services. ·        Proposal Writing: The Sales Engineering team has the responsibility of coordinating teams (engineering, product management, finance) to write technical proposals for customer requests. ·        Market Analysis and Development: This includes building a real-time database of satellites and using it to estimate the market size for D-Orbit's transportation services, identify sales opportunities, and define pricing strategies. ·        Sales Tools and Data Management: The Sales Engineering team manages data within D-Orbit's sales tools. This includes creating a customized CRM dashboard, organising sales data within the ERP system, and manipulating data from Jira and Confluence for statistical analysis. ·        Competitive Intelligence: The sales Engineering team gathers and analyzes information on competitors, particularly those in the US. This involves scouting technical details from FCC reports and developing Python tools to track competitor activity. ·        Space Safety Involvement: The Sales Engineering team actively participates in space safety matters. They built the infrastructure for submitting flight safety analyses required for customer licenses and reviewed these analyses. Their expertise even led to correcting a critical reentry time evaluation for a satellite. The Production Planner's responsibilities include the timing alignment between supply chain and production schedule and the monitor and update of the schedule to meet the production deadlines. The function will also require significant interaction with other company departments, such as Procurement, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Mission Management. Additionally, you will play a critical role in improving and maintaining existing MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) and designing new ones.   Key Responsibilities: • Supporting the mechanical integration of components, subsystems and satellites under clean room conditions • Implementation and maintenance of integration procedures and plans. • Design, Improve and maintain MGSE (e.g. equipment handling, transport) • Verification through structural analysis of correct implementation of GSE • Work closely with the quality team for inspections, investigations and non-conformance • Provide technical input to project, product to ensure that new process and methods are optimized for mechanical activities. • Author technical documents.   This role will involve occasional travel to supplier and test facilities and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.   Requirements: • 3-5 years of working experience as mechanical engineer in the aerospace field • Experience in using CAD systems • Experience in FEM structural analysis • Experience in design and implementation of mechanical ground support equipment • Hands-on experience in assembly and integration • Ability to write documentation for in-house and external assembly processes • Quality driven approach with high attention to detail • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Professional proficiency in English. • University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline   Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS) • Experience in PTC Creo • Experience with Nastran/ Patran • Experience with PLM Teamcenter • Familiar with composite materials • Knowledge of 3D printing process and designing parts for being 3D printed • Fluency in Italian   At D-Orbit, diversity and inclusivity are not just values, they are integral to our mission and the way we operate. From D-Orbit's mission control centre, you will conduct end-to-end mission operations, from launch to final deorbiting.
