As Mission Manager you will be responsible for the execution and delivery of D-Orbit's launch services through all phases of operations, including but not limited to mission planning, customer management, launch service management, and post-launch operations delivery. You will lead a cross functional team to ensure the Mission success.   The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to manage individuals and teams.   This role is for an experienced project manager with great attention to detail and excellent people skills who can apply their technical and leadership expertise to accomplish the mission and make our customers happy   RESPONSIBILITIES   - Serve as primary point of contact with Customers during the whole mission execution ensuring mission success and customer satisfaction - Develop and manage multiple project timelines ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. - Review and evaluate the mission status on a continuing basis and work unplanned mission issues to a best solution - Manage mission risks, addressing each risk through mitigation, acceptance, or transfer as appropriate - Manage exchanges and reviews with the Launch Service provider to ensure approval for flight. - Negotiate technical trades, and customer waiver requests as appropriate - Support in-person customer meetings and launch site integration activities - Manage mission budgets to achieve company targets - Ensure that mission requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are communicated and flowed down to the internal team. - Interface with internal engineering, management, and production teams to ensure on-time execution of the mission - Collaborate with Engineering team to assess the readiness of the platform for flight. - Collaborate to continuously develop and improve D-Orbit's mission management program and processes - Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.   QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS   - 3+ years of experience on technical project management; - 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry; - Experience in launch vehicles, launch campaign and spacecraft preparatory for flight activities. - Experience with spacecraft build, manufacture, and test - Technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in space technologies; - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; - Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach; - Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually; - Leadership, management and team coordination skills; - Good Knowledge of software tools for PM support like Microsoft Project; - PMP certification is a plus.   EDUCATION   Advanced University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) preferably in Aerospace Engineering or Management Engineering.   LANGUAGE   Full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.

Apply now and join us in shaping the future of space.   D-Orbit is hiring an Assembly-Integration-and-Verification (AIV) systems engineer to join our growing systems engineering team. As an integral part of the group, you will be involved in the design, verification and validation, including launch and on-orbit operations of the various D-Orbit spacecraft platforms. As AIV engineer, your main focus will be on the verification and validation activities, including environmental test campaign and participation to the launch vehicle integration activities at the launch base. Your ultimate objective as AIV systems engineer is to verify ensure your systems, the spacecraft, is compliant vs the applicable requirements and validated against the user needs in the real operative mission.    You will work together with other systems engineers, following the full design and development cycle of the systems product, starting from the preliminary design and the requirements capture, preliminary systems architecture and detailed systems/subsystems design, analysis and trade-off, definition of the verification campaign, test plan and procedures, execution of the tests on first prototypes and final requirements compliance assessment. Particularly you will focus on requirements verification methods and compliance matrixes, verification and validation plan and technology development plan. You will define test specifications/procedures and actively participate in the execution of the verification activities, including reporting and data postprocessing to eventually demonstrate requirement compliance. You will support the flight operations team in the execution of on-orbit validation tests during the real on-orbit mission.    Tasks and Responsibilities:    - Define and maintain the verification and validation strategy, model philosophy and plan;  - Define the systems and subsystems verification test plans and procedures;  - Manage autonomously the systems-level and OBDH s/s functional verifications, including the tests execution on the engineering models / flat-sat;  - Work within a multidisciplinary team of specialists on the systems and s/s design;  - Contribute to the systems and subsystems budgeting and integration within the project team;  - Support systems- and subsystems- requirements capturing & management, with focus on verification;  - Interface with prototyping technicians and with launch campaign team during the V&V campaign;  - Support the Flight Ops team for on-orbit validation activities throughout the mission execution.    Professional Experience:    We are interested in speaking to people with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience, preferably in space, acceptable in other engineering domains, e.g. aeronautics.    Job Requirements:    - Experienced and autonomous in definition of test plans, test procedures and reports.  - Practical hands-on experience in test execution on engineering models / flat-sat or equivalent HW-SW testbench;  - Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and systems-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems, with particular emphasis on OBDH;  - Knowledge of data busses architectures;  - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;  - Proactive attitude and ability to work in a team;  - Experience in the use of Matlab and Python;  - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.    Nice-to-have skills:    - Experience in environmental testing, including vibration on shaker and thermal-vacuum/thermal cycling.  - DOORS / Jama requirements experience;  - Knowledge of Linux.  - Knowledge of ECSS/NASA standards.    Education:    University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, acceptable in relevant engineering domains.    Language:    This role requires professional proficiency in English.    At D-Orbit, diversity and inclusivity are not just values, they are integral to our mission and the way we operate. Apply now and join us in shaping the future of space.   You will join the engineering project team, working together with the space-systems and S/C operation development technical authorities to define the overall FOS architecture and related main elements including the Mission Control Centre (MCC) and Mission Control Software (MCS), and interfaces between Spacecraft Controllers (SpaCon), Ground-Segment (GSEG), Space-Segment (SSEG) and in-orbit operations development teams.    As the focal point for the FOS development, you will be involved in the overall mission and S/C design and development, following the full development cycle from preliminary conceptualization to manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing of the real spacecraft for the maiden flight mission. You will interface with procurement team to scout Ground Station (GS) and Ground Tracking (GT) providers, or new technologies related to MCS equipment, you will support ground-to-ground and space-to-ground testing activities during the assembly and verification activities. After launch, you will provide technical support to the Spacecraft Controllers (SpaCon) related to in-orbit operations execution and usage of the FOS platform.    Tasks and Responsibilities:    - Be the technical responsible for ground systems and related subsystems;  - Actively contribute and monitor the development of FOS architecture and design;  - FOS systems and subsystems (MCS and software, GSEG and GS) budgeting and analyses, including coverage and availability analysis, providers and technologies trade-off analyses, etc.;  - Coordinate the integration of FOS subsystems into overall mission architectures, particularly managing all interfaces between GSEG and SSEG, e.g. physical and functional / operational ones;  - Contribute to the stakeholder/mission/project requirements capturing & management;  - Contribute to the ground systems verification and validation plan and requirements compliance;  - Define the FOS verification test procedures, and support test setup and execution;  - Work within a multidisciplinary team of specialists on the FOS and spacecraft systems and s/s design, becoming the reference point for ground ones;  - Interface with and support AIV team and related activities;  - Interface with prototyping / manufacturing to support assembly and verification (ground);  - Interface with SpaCons to support on-orbit verification and validation during mission execution;    Professional Experience:    We are interested in speaking to people with a minimum of one year of work experience preferably in Ground Systems for Space Operations, acceptable in other relevant engineering domains, e.g. aeronautics, defence, telecom or automotive.    Job Requirements:    - Experience in ground systems design and development, with practical experience on setup and execution of actual mission operations considered a plus;  - Solid knowledge of Ground Systems Engineering principles and systems-level knowledge of all ground architecture subsystems;  - Solid knowledge of Space Systems Engineering principles and systems-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems;  - Professional exposure to real-time flight operations of space and/or ground systems;  - Familiarity with communications link architectures, protocols and budgeting (e.g. OSI model);  - Good knowledge in software programming;  - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;  - Proactive attitude and ability to work in a team;  - Experience in the use of MATLAB and Python;  - Experience in requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS or Jama;  - Good knowledge of software development and configuration management, e.g. GIT or Bitbucket;  - Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;    Nice-to-have skills:    - Experience in successfully achieving project milestones in time and on quality within the context of institutional programs;  - Experience authoring technical documents to the standards of institutional players in the space industry;  - Experience in requirements engineering for software systems;  - Experience with Agile and/or Lean methodologies;  - Professional experience in preparing and/or executing space mission operations;  - Working experience in space transportation and servicing applications;  - Knowledge of space mission analysis and flight dynamics, and related computational tools (e.g. STK, FreeFlyer, GMAT or Orekit);  - Knowledge of Linux;  - Knowledge of Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket);  - Knowledge of ECSS/CCSDS/NASA standards;    Education:    University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or Physics.    Language:    This role requires professional proficiency in English.    At D-Orbit, diversity and inclusivity are not just values, they are integral to our mission and the way we operate.
