As an integral part of the group, you will be involved in both the customization of already flight-qualified platforms, such as the ION Satellite Carrier Vehicle, and the design of new advanced missions. Your ultimate objective as a systems engineer is to ensure your systems, the spacecraft, will fly safely to orbit, deliver the services required by mission objectives and eventually successfully accomplish its disposal.    You will work together with other systems engineers, following the full design and development cycle of the systems product, starting from the preliminary design and the requirements capture, preliminary systems architecture and detailed systems/subsystems design, analysis and trade-off, definition of the verification campaign, test plan and procedures, execution of the tests on first prototypes and final requirements compliance assessment. As part of the group, you will be involved in the configuration and customization of already flight-qualified platforms, such as the ION Satellite Carrier Vehicle, providing safe and simple access to space to smallsats and hosted payloads.   For each mission, you will coordinate part of the D-Orbit engineering team in the on-boarding process of customer payloads, including customizations and ad-hoc compatibility verification of mechanical, data, power and communications interfaces. You will then coordinate the flight preparation activities and be directly involved in the launch provider exchanges. You will also join the launch campaign integration team to install the spacecraft on the launch vehicle adapter ring. Eventually after launch and orbit injection, you will support the flight operations team to ensure accomplishment of the mission objectives.   You will interface with the Mission Manager, the Engineering and AIT team, and manage all technical aspects behind a satellite mission, from each single piece to the final spacecraft assembly, and provide your personal contribute to the spacecraft integration on the launch vehicle, launch, orbit injection and on-orbit operations.     Tasks and Responsibilities ·        Design the mission architecture and high level CONOPS plan; ·        Coordinate the mission team to prepare payloads onboarding and integration; ·        Prepare launch vehicle onboarding deliverables; ·        Support Mission Manager in planning activities; ·        Coordinate and support satellite preparation to flight, including environmental test; ·        Prepare and participate to Launch Campaign activities; ·        Define mission activities and support flight operations team planning.     Qualifications and Requirements ·        At least three years of working experience in spacecraft system engineering; ·        Knowledge of System Engineering principles and system-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems; ·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ·        Proactive attitude and ability to leading a work team; ·        Knowledge of Microsoft Office environment;     Nice to have skills ·        Experience in the use of Matlab and Python; ·        Experience in customer/supplier technical relationship; ·        Experience in technical leading a team for a program/project.     Education Msc in Space or Aeronautical Engineering is strongly suggested.     Language ·        Full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.    Worksite: HQ, Fino Mornasco (CO)
