As an integral part of the group, you will be involved in the design, verification and validation, including launch and on-orbit operations of the various D-Orbit spacecraft platforms. As AIV engineer, your main focus will be on the verification and validation activities, including environmental test campaign and participation to the launch vehicle integration activities at the launch base. Your ultimate objective as AIV systems engineer is to verify ensure your systems, the spacecraft, is compliant vs the applicable requirements and validated against the user needs in the real operative mission.   You will work together with other systems engineers, following the full design and development cycle of the systems product, starting from the preliminary design and the requirements capture, preliminary systems architecture and detailed systems/subsystems design, analysis and trade-off, definition of the verification campaign, test plan and procedures, execution of the tests on first prototypes and final requirements compliance assessment. Particularly you will focus on requirements verification methods and compliance matrixes, verification and validation plan and technology development plan. You will define test specifications/procedures and actively participate in the execution of the verification activities, including reporting and data postprocessing to eventually demonstrate requirement compliance. This is not a role for just a pure software test engineer but also for an experienced embedded software engineer because you will have to design and to develop applications for satellite simulator and test environment. You will become part of a growing software Verification and Validation (V&V) group responsible for ensuring software quality across a range of embedded and high performance applications in space. The main objective of your work will be designing and developing of HIL satellite simulator, improving the V&V infrastructure to enable the simulation of new sensors and actuators. RESPONSIBILITIES ·        Develop and implement strategies for providing services to customers in line with Line of Business needs. ·        Manage and coordinate service development activities through requirements identification, operations design, budget and cost analysis and trade-off, leading to successful implementation to assure service delivery. To ensure mission execution as per the company's launch manifest, you will be responsible for identifying and establishing the required infrastructures. ·        Issue and maintain Services documentations to be used for commercial purpose and related Service Statement of Work / Service Level Agreement in close collaboration with Line of Business Owners, Sales, and the Fleet team. ·        Contribute with a strategical, tactical, and managerial leadership for successful implementation of the services, with the goal to optimize business outcome. It includes the responsibilities on the following knowledge area to support. o   Sales & Operations Planning Process, for the definition and maintenance of an integrated planning. o   Customer Acquisition Process ·        In line with Service Operations Manager directions, report to Line of Business Owner services evolution proposal based on direct delivery experience and mission lesson learned. ·        As part of the Service Operation Management team, contribute to the definition of the service evolution roadmaps making sure that the agreed evolutions projects are kicked-off and delivered identifying the KPIs to measure the benefits. ·        Report overall services risk register identify clearly impacts on operations and business. Make sure the agreed mitigations actions are duly implemented. ·        Participate in business development activities, including preparing proposals, identifying new opportunities, and developing partnerships. ·        Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders. ·        Being part of a fast-growing team, additional duties may be assigned, as needed, in line with the job profile. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS ·        5+ years of experience on Program Management and/or Services Management and/or Mission Management in a fast-paced environment ·        Programmatic experience in space business and/or in the development of operations for services delivery ·        Excellent Lateral thinking skills. ·        Excellent in translating business requirements into operational requirements. ·        Excellent planning skills to make effective the communication, monitoring & control of integrated plans. ·        Ability to propose, develop and implement strategies for business growth and expansion. ·        Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach. ·        Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually. ·        Leadership, management, and team coordination skills. You will become part of a software design group responsible for the delivery of software components across a range of embedded and high performance applications in space.   Within a continuous integration environment, you will contribute to the requirements definition, design of SW architecture, coding and testing of mission critical real-time embedded software, running on the D-Orbit latest generation spacecraft.   Through these activities and by working with the key stakeholders in the development process you will deliver exciting new features and support spacecraft operations.   Tasks and Responsibilities:   - Contribute to the entire application lifecycle, focusing on requirements definition, design, coding, debugging and integration with the flight hardware (note that the coding language used during the daily job is mostly embedded C and the software spans multiple layers, ranging from low-level components to middleware and application software) - Preparation of flight software technical documentation - Validation of features including integration with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test suites - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the teams processes and methodologies   Additional duties may be assigned as needed by each project, like:   - Define software system specifications during co-engineering activities with the system team - Improve and develop new features to shared libraries - Maintenance of existing flight applications - Support to AIV activities and spaceflight operations   Required Technical Skills:   - Minimum of 1 year experience in embedded software development. - Experience delivering embedded software in any C-family language - Knowledge of any typical embedded communication interfaces such as USART, SPI, I2C, CAN - Experience using and configuring any common build tool chains or similar development environment (such as ANT, WAF, Makefile, Visual Studio etc.) - Familiarity with Git versioning system or any similar DVCS - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively - Degree, in any relevant area such as computer engineering, electronic engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics or automation. - Full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.   Nice-to-have skills:   - Good understanding of SW design and testing lifecycle in regulated environment (ideally ECSS standard) - Knowledge of real-time operating systems (such as RTEMS or FreeRTOS) and/or operating systems targeted for embedded applications (such as any embedded Linux) - Experience in debugging embedded software using standard laboratory equipment - Basic understanding of Assembler language - Experience in defining software system specifications and software requirements - Knowledge of Python - Familiarity with using any Linux based distribution and appreciation of application development - Familiarity with typical software development methodology and release versioning processes - Familiarity with OBDH and TMTC architectures used in space systems - Capability of working in autonomy   Language:   This role requires professional proficiency in English.   At D-Orbit, diversity and inclusivity are not just values, they are integral to our mission and the way we operate. We are looking for a candidate to join our Hardware Engineering team and actively follow board and System Electronic design. Deal with Electronic design from requirements definition to schematic entry. Support the System, Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering teams throughout the full product development life-cycle, supporting PCB outline, component placement and routing process. Follow technical data exchange with suppliers and support manufacturing during board assembly and test. Participate to other HW Engineering activities involving requirements definition, electrical design, verification and testing. Tasks Senior Hardware Engineer duties include: - Integrate electronic subsystems into the overall spacecraft design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless functionality. - Be responsible for the design of electronic boards from requirements to schematic definition, procedure management and test coordination. - Be responsible of coordination with other departments to evaluate and assess implications of other systems/subsystems on avionics.  - Lead PCB outline, layer setup, component placement and signal routing requirements for Power, Digital and Mixed-Signals applications. - Lead interface with PCB services suppliers. - Keep up with and know industry and space standards and technologies. - Work with Hardware Engineers and the manufacturing team for the development and sustaining of current products. - Maintain detailed documentation of system designs, specifications, and test results to comply with company standards and regulatory requirements. - Identify and select appropriate electronic components for new space applications, considering factors such as radiation tolerance, power efficiency, and durability for use in space environments. Qualifications and Requirements - Work experience of at least 5 years in Electronic design(with at least 2 of which in the space/avionics industries). - Experience with Altium designer tool. - Experience with Spice simulation tool. - Experienced with state-of-the-art PCB design tools and methodology. - Proficient with high-speed, mixed-signal and power conversion design. - Proficient in using electronic lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer, power supply, electronic load, etc.) - Knowledge of common electronic interfaces like CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-422, RS-485, Space-Wire, and MIL-1553. - Proficient with common ECSS standard electronic analyses like PSA, WCA and FMEA/FMECA. - A self-starter and highly motivated with strong organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; - Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually; - Knowledge of ECSS standard EMC and Sys design, - Knowledge of Space Power and Avionic Unit architecture, - Knowledge of FPGA, microcontroller and SoC architecture is a plus. - Knowledge of RF systems is a plus.
