D-Orbit is looking for a Propulsion Test Engineer to join our MAIT engineering team. As a Propulsion Test Engineer, you will lead the Assembly, Integration and Testing of propulsion component and subsystems. You will update and maintain test plans and procedures, as well as supervise and support our manufacturing team during the AIT activities. Additionally, you will play a critical role in improving and maintaining existing FGSE (Fluidic Ground Support Equipment) and designing new ones.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Supporting the integration and testing of propulsion components and subsystems under clean room conditions from acceptance to launch campaign shipment.
  • Update and maintain propulsion test plans and procedures.
  • Design, Improve and maintain FGSE( Fluidic Ground Support Equipment) and fluidic test bench
  • Provide technical input to project / product to ensure that new process and test methods are optimized for propulsion activities.
  • Work closely with the quality team for inspections, investigations and non-conformance
  • Definition and design of tooling and test setup for pressure tests.
  • Author technical documents.

Job Requirements:


  • 3-5 years of working experience in aerospace propulsion systems or fluidic systems.
  • Design and hands-on experience on propulsion or fluidic systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and fluidic systems and basics of electrical engineering
  • Experience in writing engineering documents and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and best practices while working with high pressure fluids
  • Quality driven approach with high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline

This role will involve occasional travel to supplier and test facilities and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.


Nice-to-Have Skills:


  • Knowledge of ATEX & PED directives is a strong asset
  • Programming experience (Python, Labview, etc.) is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with relevant testing procedures & standards (e.g., ECSS)
  • Knowledge of space propulsion and thermal subsystems

  • Fluency in Italian

As a MAIT Engineer, you will be involved in the Assembly, Integration, and Testing of already flight-qualified platforms and future products.
