D-Orbit is hiring a RAMS Systems Engineer to join our growing engineering team. As an integral part of the group, you will be involved in the design, verification and validation, including launch and on-orbit operations of the various D-Orbit spacecraft platforms.

Your objective will be to ensure mission compliance vs RAMS topics, both towards institutional and industrial customers, with the target goal to deliver the best solution addressing the space market and space ecosystem needs.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing programmatic and technical dependability and safety assurance requirements.
  • Performing dependability and safety analyses (e.g. FMECA, FTA, Reliability Block Diagram and Prediction, etc.), technical notes, technical risk assessments, risk reduction processes and the associated preventive or corrective actions.
  • Managing deliverables status within specific projects.
  • Support interaction with other teams and areas, including HW/SW, IT and cybersecurity, for topics related to dependability or safety.
  • Supporting research and study activities in the fields of dependability and safety requirements, techniques, tools and integrated engineering process methodologies and risk management methods.
  • Working in synergy with project team providing RAMS guidance.

Professional Experience:

We are interested in speaking to people with a minimum of one year of relevant working experience, preferably in space, acceptable in other engineering domains, e.g. aero, nuclear, automotive, etc.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Space Systems Engineering and Space Systems Architectures.
  • Basic knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems.
  • Experience in reliability methods for EEE (Mil-HDBK-217, FIDES) and mechanical parts.
  • Experience in dependability and safety engineering and assurance activities in space projects.
  • Experience in the dependability assessment of software-intensive safety-critical systems or products.
  • Experience with Space Quality Standards and their preparation and implementation.
  • Experience with the application of RAMS tools and methods.
  • Experience working with requirements management tool (e.g., DOORS, Jama).

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Knowledge of ECSS standards, particularly RAMS, systems engineering and project management.
  • Experience in Institutional projects with ESA, ASI or other agencies.
  • Ability to set plans and manage related tasks to comply with project schedule.
  • Ability to work in autonomy.
  • Resilience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting to meet tight schedules.

Education:

University degree in any relevant engineering domain.

Language:

This role requires professional proficiency in English.
